You know you've successfully sculpted and painted a head when the first thought of the viewer is that it's photoshopped. This piece is, without doubt, the best action figure head sculpt I have ever seen. From capturing Ledger's pouting lips to the use of rooted hair, this is a win on all levels.
As someone who has a little familiarity with custom figures, I can appreciate the details that went into this. I've worked with doll hair before, and I can certainly attest to the difficulty involved in just doing a basic design with it. You have gone into a completely different realm here twisting, matting and dirtying it up. It's so natural looking I can't even tell if you rooted it in place or if it just naturally grew in.
The best part of this head, and the part that is likely overlooked, are the eyes. Of course they look awesome, glossy and a bit psycho. What I like best is they are not centered, they are looking into the perhiphery, which would keep the figure this is placed on from being static. Just that little touch created a new dynamic for a custom Joker.
Bottom line, this is the single greatest action figure head I've ever seen, and that includes Hot Toys and Sideshow. I'm not a huge Joker/Ledger fan, but you've turned me into a fan yours.
Hello, Bob! I am very impressed by your work and realism! Often watch your gallery and try to learn how to make realistic doll! please tell me - it's important for me and sorry, I recently started using modern materials! what material did you use for the Joker - I see that the hair carefully inserted! it is very realistic! You used the silicone? Sorry for my bad English Bobby (I hope you understand and answer!'ll Wait and good luck to you! Very good work!
Bobby. I can't even find words to describe how amazing the detail is. I'd love to watch a time lapse of your work.. Hell, a real time version would be supreme.
I'm not really into the whole Batman film series thing at all, but I just wanted to stop by and say that these Joker heads that you created are some of the most realistic customizations that I have ever seen.
